I'm back!!

Hi blogging friends!

I'm back and ready to blog! Well almost. I got a new computer on Friday and I'm back on. I was only able to check my e-mail and send e-mail for the past few weeks. I will hopefully have time after Wed. because I have my dreaded tax appointment and it takes me hours to get ready for that with all the booking-keeping I have to do since all the info was on my old comp that crashed!

I hope everyone's children are getting better. Izabell has missed a week of school running a fever of 104. We took her to urgent care Fri. night and they did a UA and drew blood. Her white cells were high and they checked for bacterial pneumonia and a kidney infection. Negative on both. Her fever finally broke last night! I'm glad for that because they wanted to see her again to run more tests if it didn't break by today. I kept her home again today because she hasn't eaten in 4 days and I wanted to get her strength back before she goes back out into the big ugly germ infested world!

My favorite time of year!!

Christmas is one of my favorite times of year. I love getting things decorated and going to the Christmas pageants. Maggie was invited to two 13 year old boys' party. She looked so grown up at only 12! Bell and Olivia sang in their Christmas pageant. We also went Christmas caroling one night with church which was a lot of fun.
Bell's party at school
Olivia's party at school. They (well some) of the kids dressed up colonial style.
Decorating the tree was great this year! The kids did all of it!

Basketball

Maggie played some awesome basketball this year for CAJacobs!! She was first string and played most of every game except 1 because she was sick. She learned a lot which will help her when she starts youth BB in a week or so.Yes, she made this free throw....and the next one!!!

Not a stuff but she blocked the girl enough so the ball didn't go in!

Turkey Day

We started a new tradition 3 years ago and go to Dillon's beach with our neighbors and relatives for Thanksgiving. It is so much fun. A few people go there the Sat before to get a spot because there are tons of people there. You would be amazed at how many people spend their Thankgiving at the beach. Ruben, the girls and I went there on Sat night and stayed one night. We both had to work on Mon so we came back and left the trailer there with everyone else. Ruben went back on Mon night but I had to work through Wed. Here is some of the group. I think we ended up with 30 people + 10 extras that came for the day on Fri for the scavenger hunt. On Fri we had a scavenger hunt for all the kids.(I think there were 17) It is so much fun. We make a list of about 30-40 items the kids have to find. They have to go to each campsite and ask for items or look for them on the beach. Some things might be a candle, a wishbone, a zip tie, a can of green beans, a piece of gum. They have to get exactly what was asked for and they can only get 1 item from each camp spot.

GIRL POWER!! This is the winning team! They actually came in last but won because the team that got back first cheated. They got more than one item from each campsite. The other teams were missing one or two items. The prizes come from the $1 store and gift cards to Starbucks, Jamba Juice, etc. Everyone gets prizes from the box but the winning team gets the gift cards.

On the list was a seaweed whip with a ball on the end of it. Olivia was the handler of theirs. This isn't the traditional feast setting but we had all the traditional food. Deep fried turkey is the best!!

Besides the chaos of the kids, we had 13 dogs. 10 of which were labs. One went home early because she was in labor and had 12 puppies!

Poor Ginger was out numbered with all the big dogs. She was a vicious little thing but she had to be! All in all we had a blast!! My Mom, Dick, Gram and aunt Jill went also. I think we all like our new tradition!

End of Soccer!!! Yeah!!!

Maggie had a night game. It was pretty fun except for Izabell eating too much candy and getting sick on the way home.
Olivia had a great year. She is supposed to be resting her hip but she is a hard one to keep down.Izabell may be a goalie like her sisters. We'll see????
Izabell had her soccer partyand the girls had a blast running up and down the hallway of an enormous house. We call it the Taj Mahal.
Olivia's team had their party at a gymnatics place. This picture isn't great but it's the only one of the group. After the party, Olivia and Izabell both want to do gymnatics. NOT

Halloween

I know what you're all saying...Halloween??? but it's Christmas!!! I know, I know but I am trying to get caught up since I have been such a lazy blogger..... Isn't Izaiah the cutest monkey?Without the headdress, Olivia would look like she was going to a football gameIzabell was a little oriental girl. She saw this dress at an antique store and wanted to wear it for Halloween

Maggie of course was at a basketball game so she didn't dress-up

I tried!

Well I was trying to get caught up on what's been happening in the Ramirez house but I was only able to post 5 with pictures. I will try again tomorrow, maybe. I go in for my first set of allergy shots. 2 shots twice a week for 4 months, then once aweek for a year, then once a month for 4 years! UGH!

Too much work

Ruben hadn't had a day off in almost a month so a couple off weeks ago he got off early and we went to Scandia to minature golk, ride the go-carts, ride the bumper boats and hit some balls.

Volleyball

School sports seasons are short. Volleyball came and went. Maggie had a blast. She was captain of her team and received 1 of only two metals from her team for high point s and sportmanship. I still can't figure out what setting to put my camera on in a gym. Any suggestions?

I still think Ruben has little man syndrome.....big truck...big slot machine..... JP has his moment of fame...we were all part of the show (The Soprano's)
Jen and "The Boss"

Do you know who this is?

Ruben....20 years ago!! Haha just kidding! Not really.....
No he's not in prison......he's in Vegas

Finally got to post it!

Vegas that is! We had a great time! Besides the strong wind the whole time and Ruben had a horrible flight there. Oh, and me getting quarentened (sp?) at the airport because the security detectors kept going off. Thanks Jen and JP for a wonderful time and the much needed break!! When are we going again? The "cool" boys!

I look like a deer in headlights or maybe it's just from too much vino!! This was the at the Soprano's last supper. What a blast!!! Ruben and his moment of fame with DeeDee from the Soprano's
And yes we saw "The King" Nice hair huh? I told you it was windy!

I got a new car! A mom car. No cleats, no food, no drinks and no daycare kids! With all the kids in school now I needed a car to do my running around in. Driving the gas hog by myself was just not cutting it! We had been looking at cars for about a month. We found a 2003 Mercedes that was perfect but waited too long. We got back from Vegas on Sat and on Sun went to get the Mercedes. It was gone. We had been contenplating getting it or not because even though the price was right, repairs are outragous! Cousin Shane had also been telling me we need to get a small SUV because of trunk space. I didn't want another "family" car! I guess it was ment to be.

We then headed off to Sam's Club to do some shopping and much to our surprise there was a tent sale from the Ford dealership in the parking lot. We stopped to look at the Mustang's but knew we couldn't get one because they only seat 4. Nice but not practical. In my search I had also been looking at the Ford Fusion. (I guess I am a Ford girl at heart!) The only problem is they just came out in 2006 and you can't find a used one. Ben, my neighbor who works for me, had been looking on the internet for used ones and had no luck for this area.

It must have been my lucky day because I asked the sales guy if he had any used ones and they had one! Only 15,000 miles, black leather interior, bumpin' stereo with a 6CD changer, 5 seats and a great deal! It is the SEL model which is midgarde and I love it!

A Disease?

No it's not a disease! I had allergy testing on my arms yesterday. I reacted to about 1/2, mostly trees and grasses(just like everyone else who lives in the valley). They are going to do more extensive testing the end of October. I am so happy though because I can take my allergy meds again! I had to be off of the them for the past week before testing. I also had a CT scan and they found that my sinuses are thickened (constantly swollen) from all the scaring and I have air pockets trapped between different areas of my sinuses. The doc said this is why I am so tired all the time, get frequent nose bleeds, headaches, sinus infections and a chronic cough. Not much they can about it now except treat my allergies or move out of the area...ha, like that will happen!

Baby Faces

I think once kids lose their front teeth, the baby faces are truely gone........

Good-bye friend......

The first few weeks of school were hard for Maggie anticipating Georgia moving. Maggie and Georgia met when they were 5. They never went to grade school together but were on the same soccer team and swim team together. They became pretty good friends over the past 2 years. About a month before school started her mom told us they were moving to Florida because her dads job. We were all very sad because we have grown to know this family quite well. Georgia's mom is from England and her dad from Bahrain (sp?) They met about 15 years ago when Janette was an airline stewardess. They moved to California about 8 years ago. It was interesting to see how different and alike two families could be. We will miss Georgia and her girlieness and her 3 brothers friskiness. Goodbye friend!

Izaiah

We hadn't seen Izaiah in a while then his mom brought him by to say hello. As you can see, his Nonnie taught him how to enjoy an oreo cookie just like the rest of the kids!
He makes the funniest faces and is just a butterball. What a cutie!

Soccer has started!

I think I counted 10 balls that Maggie headed that game. She did awesome playing on the field. She hasn't played goalie yet but she's ok with that because she gets to play on the field. Going in for the block. She has never been afraid of the ball or getting kicked.
I didn't get to see Olivia's first game because I was at Bell's and Maggie's , but here is Olivia on open day climbing the wall.
Bell wants to be goalie like her big sisters. she does pretty good at it too!
